PDA IMPORT & SYNC

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO CONNECT TO THE PDA
1:  Before you install the Bizz Wizz PDA Tools Software you must first make sure the Active Sync software is installed and 'Active Sync is working by communicating to the PDA.
2:  If you do NOT wish to use the 'Active Sync'  as you find it never Works right!  Then the Data Files can be saved to the Memory Card in your PDA. The card can then be removed and plugged into the main computer and Updated that way. This is a safer way to link your data to the PDA.  Only Make sure the card is replaced back into the PDA and is found by Windows Mobile before running BW PDA Invoicing
 

First install to the Bizz Wizz Setup Tool Kit
 If you have NOT setup and loaded BW on your PDA  Then  Bizz Wizz PDA Tools Setup


If you are NOT doing your FIRST SYNC to "Bizz Wizz PDA Invoicing" then by pass next go to DO PDA SYNC  Below.

At this point please make shore you have run BW Invoicing on the PDA and the program has told you to do your first Sync.

FIRST SYNC
Before the first sync can be done you will need to setup your PDA Documents folder on to the desk top this is done automatically by Active Sync.
To do this select "Tools" then "Options" in XP or  "Set up your device" in Vista as shown below

You will then see the screen below
Place a Tick in the "Files" option
Then press "OK". or "Next"  then "Setup" in Vista

Follow the Prompts
You should then see a folder on you desk top called "WM_#### My Documents" or  "Documents on #### "  this will be a synced copy of the "My Documents " folder on the PDA.  Note  if you have more than one PDA there will be one for each PDA when you set each one up. 

 

DO PDA SYNC

The PDA Import Program is found on the "Utilities Menu" on the "Main Bizz Wizz Menu"



Before using the data import program Plug in the PDA to the PC with the USB cable then sync the data to the PC.
Also make sure you set up the folder as per "First Sync" Above
OR
Plug plug in your Memory Card into the main computer.

When the Sync is done  OR  the memory card has been inserted then
Run the PDA Import Program and you will see the screen above.
Note the user names on the left, each user can have 1 PDA.
When you select a user the address path to the "..........\BizzWizz_Data\"  folder for that users PDA will be displayed along the bottom right of the screen.  If the path is not showing when the user is selected this is ok you will be asked to select it later and it then will be saved.

If no users are displayed then just Highlight a Spare number  and click the "Add / Change User and Settings" button to type in a new Name.



To Enter the folder with the PDA data  or  the Memory card Drive and folder.
Just press the "Browse" button
You will now see a file dialog box
 If using Window Sync  click on the "Desktop" button on the left, you will then see the  folders in the list.
Select the  folder for this PDA by highlight it and pressing the "Open" button.
You will now see the "BizzWizz_Data\" folder  highlight it and pressing the "Open" button.
Now highlight the "PDA-Data.dat" file and pressing the "Open" button.

Stock file name is set by also pressing the Browse button next to it and selecting the stock file to sync. 

Set up the bank Number (1-9) that any Invoice Payments will be paid into and then the Income Category Number (101 - 150) these payment will be listed under.  Note see picture above.

Now set the Invoice and Quote Prefix books to sync to.  They can be the same book if you like  or in different books.

Now if every thing above has been done you now press the "DO SYNC" button and a Message Box will appear asking if the SYNC has been done. Press "OK" if it has.


If new customer are found or you have changed one you will be asked if you wish to add or change them.


When the Import has been done a Message Box will appear asking you to RE-SYNC before you unplug the PDA from the PC. Pressing "OK" will end the Import program.

NOTE: IF USING A MEMORY CARD
Make sure the card is replaced back into the PDA and is found by "Windows Mobile" before running "BW PDA Invoicing"
